This program is designed to equip students with the technical abilities to manage financial data using relevant softwares and to become competent business professionals. Students learn how to prepare financial statements, bookkeeping, budgeting, payroll preparation, filing taxes and HST. Graduates can go on to advance their career further by pursuing the CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation.

Introduction to Accounting: Basic accounting terminology and financial statement structure.
Financial Accounting 050: Understanding various business organizations such as sole proprietorship, partnerships, corporations. Capital assets, amortization, analysis of business transactions, accrual and cash basis accounting.
Financial Accounting 100: Accounting information systems, basic auditing, internal controls, managing cash and exercising professional judgement.
Financial Accounting 101: Utilizing the accounting equation, preparing financial statements, merchandising operation activities and bank reconciliation.
Management Accounting 101: Systems design, cost classification, cost behaviour analysis and budgeting.
Fundamentals of Taxation 101: Personal taxation, computation of net income, refundable credits, non-refundable tax credits and capital gain tax.
Payroll Management 101: Accounting for payroll, payroll deductions, remitting source deductions, termination and commission payments. Employer payroll costs, employee fringe benefits, completing a record of employment
Software Application: Utilizing software such as Quickbooks and Sage 50 to prepare financial statements, create receipts, purchase orders, bank reconciliation, finance charges and account transactions.
